When going for photo shoots, the type of wardrobe you choose to wear is pretty much open and left to your choice. There are some basic guidelines regarding that also. When doing fashion shoots, just be careful that they look good in every sense. Check out some of the latest fashion websites and magazines to find out which all looks are 'in' before picking out a wardrobe. Get candid as well as posed pictures. Do not harbour any fear of action shots where the model is supposed to be in a moving mode.
Once the photo shoot gets over, select the best images that are deemed excellent by professional photographers. If after the photo shoot, you have picked some images that are no good you would have wasted your precious time and the entire effort would have gone down in drain. Bear in mind that since you managed to take at least 30 images for getting variety looks, you would be selecting only a few that are thought to be the best from the many photographs and images you took during the photo session. One has to look for well lighted images with no dark shadows permeating the model's face and body. Maintaining good eye contact with the camera is a must. No weird & bizarre cropping of the model's photographs is acceptable. Some examples are- top of the head cut off, part of a tree coming out in the background of the model's head. Well, you would have got a fair enough idea.
Sharp and in-focus images are desirable. Once you have done the process of selection of images you are required to submit, make sure that they have a 72 dpi resolution. If not, make use of some basic graphics program to adjust it. And, most of the time, they will need some enhancement to make them more acceptable. Do not upload and send pictures larger than 500 pixels, in terms of height or width. If they happen to be bigger than the desired size, simply reduce their size. Put to use the contrast and brightening controls and see what all changes happen. Most of these images can be improved and enhanced with some degree of brightening and/or contrast adjustment. You do not have to worry about ruining your photographs and images because you can always discard the changes you have brought about.
One of the final steps is to ascertain whether sharpening will improve the quality of your images. Always make use of the smallest sharpening level or setting possible and see what happens to the images. By all means, you may want your images to be sharp enough. Now approaches the time to determine which all places and agencies to send your images.
