By using a keyword research tool, you'll get many such long tail keywords that Google Keyword Tool wouldn't be able to find for you.
You'll also want to take this fact to heart: multiple-word keyword phrases will always be less trouble to rank than commonly-used 'generic' keywords (which of course are annoyingly competitive). The best approach is to be creative regarding the research process while training yourself to let go of the headache of how to rank via the tougher-to-find keywords. Concentrate your efforts on garnishing the niche that has yet to be capitalized on by other marketers, while others waste their time trying to rank dead-end keywords.
