Marketing on the internet is no different. As much as anything one need to present oneself as an authority or expert within ones niche. Competition is fierce and potential customers have many choices. The more professional and knowledgeable one present himself, it will be more beneficial & serve as an added advantage.
Include some personal news about oneself which helps build the all important relationship. Since most visitors don't want to know ones life story, one should keep it relatively short.
People love to read reviews from other customers. One can get testimonials by asking ones current customers for them and from those you know personally.
One need to look at what other successful marketers are doing and follow some of the same tactics. One of those is to sensationalize a little. Use attention grabbers such as "Don't Miss Out On This!" or "Shockingly easy formula for profits tomorrow!" etc.
Try not to go over the top but one need to make one site or email ad stand out and generate an interest in ones product or opportunity.
